About Parow Property
Although Parow is geographically part of Cape Town’s northern suburbs, its close proximity to the Cape Town City Bowl, often induces in residents and other property owners, the sense that they are in fact urbanites, and not suburbanites. Whatever their sensibilities in this regard, Parow lies just to the east of Goodwood and is not far from Bellville either, which lies just to the south west. As it is relatively close to Cape Town, Parow enjoys excellent road links to the city via the N1 and N17. Thus for commuters and others needing regular fast and safe access into the city, Parow is ideal. There is also an alternative route going around to Cape Town via Paarl. Parow offers all the facilities of a modern residential suburb. It has excellent medical services, good schools and great recreational facilities such as several first class golf courses. Worth mentioning is the Durbanville golf course for its sheer prettiness. For visitors who adore shopping, Parow cannot be beaten. One of the largest shopping centres in the southern hemisphere – Canal Walk is very close, and boasts just about every conceivable kind of merchandise and service. It provides a unique shopping experience. The much lauded Tygervalley shopping centre is also convenient for Parow residents. In this centre alone shopping thrills are around every corner. If that is not enough to satisfy our shopaholics’ craving, then our advice would be to move on to the Willowbridge Lifestyle Centre. Of course all the above offer dining experiences and menus which should satisfy most tastes and pockets. The Grand West Casino also close by, offers a huge variety of entertainment and another exciting array of restaurants. For those whose interests do not revolve around shopping and entertainment centres, then Parow offers that major attraction for visitors to the Western Cape – wine! Many property owners have confessed that one of their chief reasons for buying property in Parow was its closeness to the Durbanville Wine Route. This a spectacular route as it takes in the cascading Tygerberg Hills and through at least nine different wine estates all of which are a mere sniff away from Parow. Only the Constantia Wine Route is as close to Cape Town as Durbanville. However, there is more to this suburb than wine or shopping. For lovers of nature, the Tygerberg Nature Reserve sits on a 278 hectare conservation is also very close to Parow. This gorgeous piece of unspoilt country offers a wide variety of hiking trails in terms of distance and challenge and includes the most stunning views over the Peninsula. For all the above reasons, there is a great deal to commend Parow to those looking for a suitable property in which to live or invest.
