About Lakeside Property

Lakeside is nestled against the mountain on the border of the Southern Suburbs. The area offers close proximity to Westlake Golf Course, and easy access to Boyes Drive with Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek all within 15 minutes drive. Lakeside offers good value with smaller homes at the foot of the mountain and larger exclusive properties in elevated positions on the mountain side enjoying views across the Constantia Valley & False Bay.

Interestingly enough, for a suburb that sits plum in the middle of all the action in terms of accessing some of the Capes top beaches and attractions, Lakeside manages to offer homeowners an uncomplicated lifestyle choice of leafy streets and kids kicking soccer balls. It’s very calm and peaceful and yet so ideally positioned should one wish to join the hustle and bustle. Bordered by Muizenberg and Westlake, with the towering Steenberg Mountain as a backdrop views, particularly those closer to Boyes Drive are breathtaking both by day, across to the Hottentot Holland mountains and especially by night as the Peninisula lights up like a fairyland.

It’s not surprising then that holidaymakers keenly flock to this area in search of either a holiday home or rentals on a seasonal basis. Property for sale in Lakeside remains fluid as it caters for a wide range of income levels, which is then complimented by a diverse community mix. One of the Capes most memorable bakeries used to reside in Lakeside and the smell of fresh bread was intoxicating. So its closure was met with disappointment until a super retail village emerged from the dust of the recent renovation and some of SA’s top stores moved in offering easy access to the public and property owners. . Homeowners are often creative and arty or keen on the outdoors, making for a very chilled and slow existence. Not much is rushed and a friendly chat at the store or over the wall to ones neighbour the order of the day.
